Gardens and farmers’ markets abound in City Heights. You’ll often find public art in the neighborhood’s green spaces. Azalea Park is rich in murals and sculptures. The New Roots Community Farm or the San Diego Peace Garden even has an annual Kale Festival. Hikers, rejoice! Nightlife in City Heights is local and lively. Visit the Tower Bar for cheap (strong) drinks, and great conversation with the bartenders. The Black Cat Bar is another no-frills hangout but boasts two well-used pool tables, a stellar jukebox, and street tacos out front.
